Appleton Launches Free Mobile App

The Appleton Museum of Art has launched a free mobile app that enriches museum visitor experiences.

The Appleton app provides two mobile tour options, one for children and one for adults. Through its navigational map, tours include stops on the first and second floor permanent collection galleries, as well as outside in the Sculpture Walk. Outside tours highlight Florida artists in their own words through audio recorded by Mike Zeak, who created the outdoor sculpture “Childhood Memories” and John Gamache, who created “Florada.”

A generous donation allowed the museum to fund staff to develop and maintain the app. Appleton Director Jason Steuber said, “The free app engages our young and seasoned visitors through enhanced multimedia opportunities focused on the collection. It is another way for everyone to discover, enjoy and interact with all the Appleton has to offer before, during and after their visit.”

The free app can be downloaded from either the iTunes® App Store or Google Play Store.
