Erika Meitner Poetry Reading Feb. 7

The Communications Department presents Erika Meitner reading her poetry Wednesday, Feb. 7, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in Building 8, Room 110, at the Ocala Campus. A book signing will follow. Meitner is the author of “Inventory at the All-Night Drugstore” (2003), “Makeshift Instructions for Vigilant Girls” (2011), and “Ideal Cities” (2010), which was a 2009 National Poetry series winner. Her fourth book of poems, “Copia,” was published in 2014. Meitner’s poems have been anthologized widely, and have appeared in “Ploughshares,” “Virginia Quarterly Review,” “The New York Times Magazine,” “The New Republic,” “Tin House,” and elsewhere. She was a 2014-15 US-UK Fulbright Scholar in Creative Writing at the Seamus Heaney Centre for Poetry at Queen’s University Belfast. Meitner is currently an associate professor of English at Virginia Tech, where she directs the Master of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing.
