CF Book Club, Oct. 16

October 16, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 9:45 am

The CF Book Club will meet on Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 12:30-1:45 p.m. on the Ocala Campus in the Learning Resources Center, Building 3, Room 112; and available through ITV for Citrus and Levy employees.

We’ll be discussing the 2018 Florida Book Awards Gold Medal winner in the General Fiction category, “Worm Fiddling Nocturne in the Key of a Broken Heart” by Kimberly Lojewski (discussion led by the author) From Burrow Press: “In this wildly imaginative debut collection, whimsical fairy tales of princesses and farm girls turn dark, and dark tales of mistreated sideshow freaks turn whimsical. An itinerant marionette falls prey to a lusty mesmerist. An alcoholic camp counselor is haunted by her dead best friend. A juvenile delinquent languishes in a boot camp run by authoritarian grandmas. Be they human monsters or reluctant moth-girls, the outcasts that populate these eleven compelling stories all long for escape, community, acceptance, and self-discovery.”

Those interested can bring their lunch and ideas for future books to discuss. All faculty and staff are welcome. Drinks and light snacks will be provided on the Ocala campus.
