Gallery Talk with Artist Vicki Jones, May 11
May 11 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
The Appleton Museum of Art presents a gallery talk with Vicki M. Jones on Saturday, May 11, at 1 p.m. Her work is on view at the Appleton through July 7 in a solo exhibition entitled “Familiar Beauty.” This talk is free for Appleton members; included with admission fee for nonmembers.
Jones is a native of Central Florida and has been exhibiting her pencil drawings since 1987. Her realistic and sometimes surreal works vary in subject matter, including landscape, portraiture (of people and of trees), still-life and architecture. Other media exhibited include pastel and colored pencil drawings.
“In my pencil drawings I like to show, just by focusing intently on a subject, that the very ordinary things (or people) we encounter daily can hold surprising beauty, wonder or mystery,” Jones said.
