Nursing and Paramedic Poster Presentations, Oct. 10

The CF family is invited to walk around, ask questions and view poster presentations about evidence-based practice by the graduating nursing students and paramedic students on Wednesday, Oct. 10, from 1-3 p.m. in the Ewers Century Center. Some of the nursing topics include: use of lavender oil to help patients sleep, MDMA for use in clients who have PTSD, laughter therapy in the sick role, fecal microbiota transplantation for C diff infections, bed alarms vs rounding more frequently, effectiveness of mobile stroke utilization units, oral cryotherapy to reduce mucositis in patients receiving chemotherapy and more.

Paramedic topics include efficacy of spinal immobilization in the pre-hospital setting, benefits of intraosseous over intravenous cannulation in shock, can paramedics maintain proficiency in pediatric intubation, and is there a benefit over single biphasic defibrillation in refractory ventricular fibrillation, plus more.
