Facing Mortality, Book Reading Nov. 7

Hospice of Marion County, CF’s Community Arts Partner, will host a reading of “Cry, Heart, But Never Break” by Danish author Glenn Ringtved Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2:30-5:30 p.m. in the Webber Center at the Ocala Campus.

This book for children (and adults) addresses the issue of mortality with gentleness, tenderness and awareness. “Cry, Heart, But Never Break” is a breathtaking quest into mortality told through the narrative of the Grim Reaper himself.

The dramatic reading will be presented by Amy Rath, child bereavement specialist with Hospice of Marion County. Rath has worked with children, both those enduring the loss of loved ones and those facing their own impending death, for more than 30 years. The reading will be followed by a reception and stories of survival.

There is no fee to attend, but RSVP is required to Jessica McCune at 352-854-5231 or jmccune@hospiceofmarion.com.

Each academic year, a select number of nonprofit organizations are chosen through an application process to become Community Arts Partners for the following year. An organization selected to be a CF Community Arts Partner may have one event in the Charles R. Dassance Fine Arts Center, the Citrus Campus Conference Center or the Appleton Museum of Art  auditorium and may be eligible to have basic rental fees waived.
