Forensics Team Makes Strong Showing

The Forensics Team recently attended the Marks Invitational Forensics Tournament at the University of West Florida. CF competed with seven other colleges and universities: UWF, University of Florida, Florida State University, University of Central Florida, Tennessee State University, Northwest Florida State College and Florida State College at Jacksonville. All five members of the CF team are novices, and with the exception of Katelynn Thibos, this was their first time competing.

Dakari Blunt earned Top Non-Advancing Novice in Impromptu overall, and first place in one of her rounds. Thibos earned Top Non-Advancing Novice in Program Oral Interpretation overall, and third place in two of her three rounds. Arrianna Rico also participated in Impromptu, and while she did not place overall, she did earn fourth place in one of her rounds. Mia Lasaga placed fifth overall in Slam Poetry, and sixth overall in Poetry Interpretation. In addition to their awards, team members showed wonderful support for one another.

The CF team won sixth place overall in the Team Sweepstakes. These students are working hard, and representing the college very well. The team will attend the Star Invitational Forensics Tournament at Florida State College at Jacksonville Nov. 16-17.
