Free Art Workshop at Citrus Campus – Oct 14

The Citrus campus will host a free Alcohol Inks art workshop Saturday, Oct. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Building 3, Room 105.

Highly pigmented alcohol inks are used to add color to non-porous surfaces such as plastics, ceramics, glass and metals.

In this workshop participants will receive an overview and demonstration of alcohol inks from instructor Bonnie Peterson, and then create beautifully unique bookmarks and tiles.

Peterson has been a multimedia artist her entire life. She attended the Pratt Institute in New York as well as The School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Peterson proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, as a communications specialist, spending time in Alabama, Georgia, and overseas in Karlsruhe, Germany.

After a career with Telephone Networking Systems, she retired from New York Telephone, AT&T/Lucent Technologies in 2001. Retirement has given Peterson the opportunity to return to her first love; the visual arts. She started a mural business Artsy Rooms in Citrus County, and later established The Jell-O Lady where she catered and taught gelatin art desserts in Citrus and Hernando counties.
