FREE Old Books

Like old books? The Library on the Ocala Campus will be asking faculty and staff to look through titles we’re weeding each week before we make them available to students for free. More books will be available each week through December and into January.

Weeded books that have gone through the complete deaccessioning process will be placed on the counter top in the rear of the Archives area on the ground floor of Building 3 for faculty and staff to peruse. Ask at the Circulation Desk or the LRC Administrative Office for directions. After two days, these books will be placed on book trucks and offered to students. We anticipate offering new batches of books to students every Monday and Wednesday, with the first books going out on Wednesday, Nov. 8. Faculty and staff who don’t want to miss eyeballing the books before they are publicly available should plan on visiting the Archives counter top twice a week, every Monday or Tuesday and Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Books not finding a home will eventually be offered to other libraries or recycled.
