International Film Series Presents “Brooklyn” Oct. 11

The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “Brooklyn,” a 2015 film from Ireland and Canada.

“Brooklyn” will be shown Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, and at 7 p.m. in Building 8, Room 110, at the CF Ocala Campus, 3001 S.W. College Road.

Young Irish immigrant Ellis Lacey navigates her way through 1950s Brooklyn. The initial shackles of homesickness quickly diminish as a fresh romance sweeps her into the intoxicating charm of love. But soon, her past disrupts her new vivacity, and Eilis must choose between two countries and the lives that exist within. This PG-13 film is in English.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series. Series membership is $15 for individuals, $25 for dual membership and includes a bonus film each year. For information about membership, call 352-873-5808. The viewing is free at CF.
