International Film Series Presents ‘Mustang’ Jan. 31

The College of Central Florida International Film Series will present “Mustang,” a 2015 drama.

The film will be shown Tuesday, Jan. 31, at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art and at 7 p.m. in Building 8, Room 110, at the Ocala Campus.

In a village in northern Turkey, Lale and her four sisters are walking home from school, playing innocently with some boys. The supposed immorality of their play sets off a scandal that has harsh consequences. The family home is progressively transformed into a prison; instruction in homemaking replaces school; and marriages start being arranged. The five sisters, who share a common passion for freedom, find ways of getting around the constraints imposed on them.

The PG-13 film is shown in Turkish with English subtitles.

At the Appleton, viewers pay museum admission unless they are a museum member or a patron of the CF International Film Series.
