Sovereign Brass as Part of Trumpet Fest, March 24

CF’s Visual and Performing Arts Department will feature Sovereign Brass as a part of the “Trumpet Fest” lecture on Saturday, March 24, in the Dassance Fine Arts Center, 3001 S.W. College Road, Room 112. “Trumpet Fest” is from 2-4 p.m. and is free to attend. Sovereign Brass will begin at 6 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students. CF students, faculty and staff are free with CF identification.

“Trumpet Fest” is a day of music and features performances and master classes by Bryce Schmidt, Tom Macklin and Nikolai Manttari with an emphasis on brass. In addition, CF Trumpet Ensemble, Coleman Middle School Trumpet Ensemble and Fletcher High School Trumpet Ensemble will perform directly before each of the mentioned performances. 

Sovereign Brass was formed in 1994 and continues to bring high quality brass music to audiences all over the country. Based in central Florida, members also perform with the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Orlando Opera, World Class at Disney’s Epcot Center, the Walt Disney World Orchestra and other regional performing groups in the southeast.  Individual members have also toured Broadway shows, performed with the Woody Herman Orchestra and recorded for TV, radio and motion pictures.
