Visual Artists’ Society Summer Spotlight Exhibition Celebrates 20 Years at CF

The Visual Artists’ Society celebrates its 20th Summer Spotlight exhibition at the College of Central Florida Webber Gallery, 3001 S.W. College Road, May 18-June 23.

The opening reception and awards ceremony for Summer Spotlight XX is Thursday, May 18, from 4-6 p.m. The exhibit and reception for the judged and juried show are free.

“This exhibit really sets the tone for adventurous exploration and self-discovery, whether it be far away or right here in Marion County,” said Dr. Jennifer Fryns, CF dean of Arts and Education.

VAS has over 70 members from all over Marion County and Central Florida. VAS exhibits showcase a variety of styles and mediums, including more traditional paintings and photographs, as well as jewelry, sculpture and digital media. One of two VAS exhibitions each year, Summer Spotlight has always been an important and exciting part of the Webber series of exhibits.

Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday. The gallery is closed Friday, Saturday, Sunday and college-observed holidays. For additional information, call 352-873-5809.
