Visual & Performing Arts offering music lessons to the public

The College of Central Florida Community School of the Arts is now offering private and group music lessons to young people interested in making music an important part of their lives.

“We are excited to take this step toward better preparation of our future music students,” said Dr. Jennifer Fryns, CF dean of Arts and Education. “For young people who are serious about a career in music, private instruction is vital and really needs to begin prior to their entrance to college. What sets our instructors apart is that they are all on our teaching staff and know what it takes to prepare for the college-level study of music and what it takes to earn college scholarships.”

Taught by college faculty members who hold advanced degrees and have accomplished performing and teaching careers, lessons are primarily available for students in grades K-12.

Currently, lessons are being offered in voice, piano, bass, flute, stings and percussion. Lessons are held at the CF Ocala Campus in the Dassance Fine Arts Center.

Tuition for 15 half-hour lessons is $260 plus a $25 registration fee. A payment plan is available.
