An Evening with Jim White, March 14

Mar 14, 2019 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The CF Humanities and Social Sciences Department presents an evening with singer-songwriter, raconteur, visual artist and Pushcart Prize-winning author Jim White on Thursday, March 14, in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building 8, Room 110, from 7-8 p.m.

From 5-6:30 p.m. a documentary will be shown, “Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus,” in which White guides us into the dark recesses of the hidden heart of the South. In the jook joints, prisons, churches , dirt roads and swamps of Florida, and other parts of the Southeast, White roots out musicians, storytellers and sermonizers while looking for the key to spiritual currents unique to this region.
