From Jason Griffis, CF Chapter President:
I’m happy to share a few photos from our recent Association of Florida Colleges (AFC) award distribution with our CF team.
Please join me in congratulating:
- Krystle Skelly and Marjorie McGee, who received their Florida College Professional medals and certificates
The Florida College Professional Certificate (FCPC) is a self-paced program for employees in the Florida College System.
It helps participants develop skills and deepen their understanding of the system through structured activities and documented participation.
To earn the certificate, participants must complete 100 FCPC credit hours and a final practicum presentation. Credits are earned in three ways: four required core courses (40 credits), job-related professional development (at least 35 credits), and other AFC activities (at least 25 credits), such as attending meetings or taking on leadership roles.
The core courses cover practical topics: Leadership, Legislative Process and Advocacy, the Florida College System, and Building Community and Customer Service. Most participants complete the program in 9 to 12 months, depending on how quickly they meet requirements and submit paperwork.
The practicum is a required one-hour presentation related to the four core topics. It must be submitted for approval in advance. After all requirements are completed and reviewed, certificates are given at the AFC Annual Conference.
- Dr. Cynthia Moody, who received the Lifetime Membership Award
Honorary Life membership is conferred on those persons who, in the opinion of the Association’s Board of Directors, have made an outstanding contribution to the colleges and/or the Association. Recipients for Honorary Life memberships are recommended by the Association’s Awards Committee.
- Chapter Awards
The CF Chapter for AFC was recognized as a Platinum Chapter, along with Tallahassee State College and Northwest Florida State College. Also, our chapter is a member of Region 3, which won Region of the Year.
- Additional Recognitions
In addition to those honors, the Commission of the Year was The Technology Commission, and they gave out Distinguished Services Awards to Jesse Clayton, April Leak, Eddie Williams, Doctor Dixon, and Gabby Booth.
These recognitions reflect the dedication, service, and positive impact each of them brings to our campus community and to AFC. Congratulations again, and thank you for everything you do!
