The Newton A. Perry Aquatic Center at the Ocala Campus will offer American Red Cross Lifeguarding Classes April 7-15 and April 21-29.
The 32-hour course includes training in lifeguarding, CPR and first aid. Students must be at least 15 years old, be able to swim 300 yards continuously and tread water for two minutes without the use of hands.
Classes will be held Monday through Thursday from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the aquatic center on the CF Ocala Campus.
The $275 registration fee, which must be paid by personal check, includes books. Register in person at the facility Tuesday-Saturday from noon-4 p.m., or Sunday from 1-4 p.m. The class is limited to the first 20 registrants.
