CF Theatre will present “No Exit” Nov. 30–Dec. 4 in the Black Box Theatre at the CF Ocala Campus.
Performances will be held at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3-Dec. 3 and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4. Doors open 30 minutes before each performance.
“No Exit” is Jean-Paul Sartre’s one-act depiction of the afterlife featuring three deceased characters who are punished by being locked into a room together for eternity.
The play is the source of Sartre’s famous and often misinterpreted quote, “L’enfer, c’est les autres” or “Hell is other people.” It is believed that Sartre thought the true form of punishment is only being able to see ourselves through the eyes of others.
