Change to Broadcasts, Comment Card Processes

Beginning January 2018, we will be streamlining collegewide broadcasts and moving the comment card process online with a goal of increasing our efficiency.

Insider online provides a one-stop location for internal college news events and updates.

Collegewide broadcasts will be limited to official college communications. All other communications of collegewide interest will be shared via Insider online newsletter, which is continuously updated.

In 2016, the Marketing and Public Relations team conducted surveys and focus groups to review internal communications. The consensus was that communications are quite redundant, that the printed Insider newsletter and Friday Fast Facts broadcast were outdated, and that individual broadcasts are often deleted before being read and clog the inboxes of adjunct and part-time team members.

In response to your valuable input, the Marketing and Public Relations team developed the Insider.org newsletter blog, which is updated as information is provided and is shared as a single broadcast weekly. The new format allows readers to scan all announcements and events in a single location.

Official CF information — such as safety, IT security, or Human Resources information that is time sensitive — will continue to be shared via broadcast with the approval of the appropriate vice president.

Examples of news that will be included at Insider.org are staff or student events, professional development opportunities, general HR benefits information, etc.

Comment cards go online.

On or about March 1, 2018, Comment Card boxes will be removed from all CF locations, and signs will be posted on bulletin boards directing readers to the new web-based form now available at www.CF.edu/comment.

The change will improve responsiveness by expediting review and handling of comments. Previously, it could take up to two weeks for a comment or concern to reach the appropriate administrator. With the new process, the comment will feed into a simple database with no identifying information. The database will be reviewed by a manager in Marketing and Public Relations, and comments will be shared with the appropriate administrator within two work days of receipt.

The new online comment form is available to internal and external constituents and can be used for general feedback about processes, service, facilities, etc. The form does not replace the Patriot PRIDE Rate-Us-Now survey, which is primarily for students.

Your continuous feedback helps us keep the focus on excellences as we work toward continuous improvement across all departments. Please continue to provide your comments and suggestions through this anonymous process.

Thank you for supporting these positive changes as we work together to improve collegewide communications.
