Financial Workshop: Simplify Your Spending and Saving Strategies

CF Corporate College has partnered with Edward Jones to provide CF faculty and staff free financial workshops to learn key principles of saving and investing and specific strategies to help you reach your long-term financial goals. Simplify Your Spending and Saving Strategies
Tuesday, Oct. 15, 3-4 p.m.
This session is designed to help you bring a balance to your budget. you will learn more about setting personal financial goals, balancing saving, spending and borrowing to help you achieve your goals, strategies for controlling debt and improving credit scores and practical saving options for now through retirement.

Foundations of Investing
Thursday, Oct. 17, 3-4 p.m.
This 30-minute session is geared to people who want an overview of investing, including key terms and types of investments. This session will cover the basic features of bonds, stocks and packaged investments, and the importance of asset allocation.

Stocks: The Nuts and Bolts
Tuesday, Oct. 22, 3-4 p.m.
During this session, you’ll learn the differences between common and preferred stock, the importance of dividends, ways to craft your stock strategy, and different ways to own stock.

Focus on Fixed Income
Wednesday, Oct. 23, 3-4 p.m.
This 45-minute session is geared to people who are interested in creating a reliable income stream. This session covers bond characteristics and features, as well as key strategies to get the most out of your fixed-income investments.

An Investor’s Tour of Mutual Funds
Thursday, Oct. 24, 3-4 p.m.
This session provides a detailed look at the features, benefits and risks associated with this type of investment as well as guidance to help empower you as you explore the multitude of funds available.

What Happens After the Paychecks Stop?
Tuesday, Oct. 29, 3-340 p.m.
This 50-minute session discusses income during retirement. Attendees will explore how to budget for retirement expenses, examine potential sources of retirement income and identify ways to address potential risks.

Social Security: your Questions Answered
Tuesday, Oct. 29, 3:40-4 p.m.
This 20-minute presentation discusses how Social Security fits into your retirement income plan, when you should start taking benefits and tax considerations.

Preparing Your Estate Plan
Wednesday, Oct. 30, 3-4 p.m.
This presentation will cover, things to consider when creating your will, the benefits of trusts in estate planning, how to help reduce taxes on your estate, how insurance can help protect your family.
