Good Rockin’ Tonight: The Chitlin’ Circuit and the Roots of Rock & Roll

Join musician and author “Rev.” Billy C. Wirtz on Wednesday, April 24, 7-8 p.m., to discuss the cultural and economic conditions that shaped American popular music in the mid-20th century. Attention will be given to trailblazing performers of the “Chitlin’ Circuit,” a system of venues from Detroit to Tampa for African American artists during an era of racial segregation.
