Ira Holmes International Film Series: “Polite Society”

March 26 @ 7:00 pm

Tuesday, March 26, 7 p.m., join us for the next showing in CF’s Ira Holmes International Film Series, “Polite Society.” When her demure older sister, Lena, announces her impending nuptials, Ria vows to thwart the marriage by whatever means necessary, believing she is saving her sister from an uncertain fate. Armed with an overactive imagination and a ragtag gaggle of friends, Ria concocts an outlandish heist to protect her sister’s independence. This playful, action-pack coming-of-age comedy mixes elements from Bollywood and martial arts genres to create a fun-filled girl-power film that is perfect for Women’s History Month.

All films will be shown Tuesdays at 2 p.m. at the Appleton Museum of Art, 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala, and at 7 p.m. at the College of Central Florida, 3001 S.W. College Road, Building 8, Room 110, unless otherwise noted. Films at the Ocala Campus are free and open to the public. Films at the Appleton are free to all museum and film series members; nonmembers pay museum admission. Films may contain mature content.
