Poet and Playwright T.K. Lee on Campus, Feb. 25

February 25, 2020 @ 7:30 am - 8:30 am

CF students, faculty and staff are invited to hear poet and playwright T.K. Lee on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Humanities and Social Sciences Building 8, Room 110, at the Ocala Campus. T.K. Lee is an award-winning actor, director, playwright and poet. His works include his first book of poetry, To Square a Circle, which was published in 2018. Lee’s play, Paper Thin, won the Best Production award and special recognition as the Outstanding New Play at the Southeastern Theatre Conference in 2018. Lee also received the 2015 Peter K. Hixson Award in poetry.

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Lee was reared mostly in Mississippi by his maternal great uncle. He is cut from a cloth dyed as much in the Delta Blues as it is in the red clay hills stretching across the eastern edge of the Magnolia State. When he’s not writing, Lee is often found sharing his knowledge and insight with students at Mississippi University for Women in Columbus, where he teaches in the Master in Fine Arts Program in Creative Writing.  Lee’s appearance is jointly sponsored by the CF Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Ocala Civic Theatre.
