SUMMARY:CF Distinguished Alumni Award Nominations
DESCRIPTION:The CF Alumni Association\, in cooperation with the CF Foundation Alumni Relations office\, is excited to announce that nominations for the 2025 CF Distinguished Alumni Award will be accepted Sept. 23  through Oct.  31 at 4 p.m. \nTo be eligible for nomination\, an individual must have graduated from CF or its entities anytime prior to the last 10 years and have distinguished themselves in their public lives or career. The nominee must consent to being included in the selection process. Nominations may be submitted by any individual (excluding self-nominations)\, group or institution/organization. \nRequirements: \n\nSubmit an official Nomination Form highlighting the nominee’s achievements and explaining how the nominee meets the criteria for the award.\nSupporting documents: depending on the nominee’s field of endeavor\, such documents could include notices and reviews of the nominee’s work\, sample publications\, samples of media coverage\, personal citations\, testimonials\, etc.\n\nUpon acceptance of the nomination\, nominees may submit specific evidence of their accomplishments in the following areas\, limited to five pages. \nCriteria: \n\nProfessional accomplishment in their field. The nominee should have attained a high level of distinction and achievement in their career\, creative contributions to the arts (comprising humanities\, performing and fine arts and education\, social sciences and business) or sciences (comprising science\, engineering and health sciences)\, criminal justice or service to society.\nCandidate exhibits a high degree of character and integrity.\nCivic and college involvement\, providing leadership or servantship.\nNominee’s achievements have local\, national and/or international significance.\n\nAll nomination forms and letters of support may be transmitted through any of the three methods. Submissions received after the given deadline will not be considered. SUMMARY:Important Health Insurance Updates for All CF Employees
DESCRIPTION:Beginning Jan. 1\, 2025\, CF will transition to the State Group Insurance Plan (SGIP) offered by the state of Florida. The State Group Insurance program is known for its comprehensive coverage and robust network of medical professionals\, and is the same program that is offered to state employees\, including those with the State University System. \nYour vision\, dental\, and basic life insurance plan will also be moving to the State Plan\, along with several supplemental benefits such as hospitalization\, cancer/intensive care\, and accident/disability coverages. \nThis is fantastic news for CF employees! Please watch the video below\, review the PDF version\, or read the following information carefully to learn important details about next steps.\n \nOpen Enrollment Required\nCurrent CF benefit plans will not transition to the State Group Insurance Plan\, which means eligible employees and retirees will all be required to actively enroll in new benefit plan offerings during the State Group Insurance open enrollment period. \nAll existing CF benefit plans for Health\, Dental\, Vision and Basic Life insurance will be discontinued effective Dec. 31\, 2024. This includes the employer paid DV Plan (Dental/Vision Plan) and Retiree health and life plans. \nOpen enrollment begins Oct. 14 and will close at 6 p.m. on Nov. 1. If you do not enroll in the State Group Health Plan by Nov. 1\, 2024\, you will not have benefits Jan. 1\, 2025. \nInformation about open enrollment will be sent from the State of Florida and will be mailed directly to employees.
