SUMMARY:CF Appleton Museum of Art to open ‘Deconstructing Self: Work by Seth P. Benzel’
DESCRIPTION:Take a trip to the Appleton Museum of Art\, Aug. 30-Jan. 4\, to see “Deconstructing Self.” Opening on the second-floor Preview Gallery\, it debuts new works by Ocala-based artist Seth Benzel in the form of two- and three-dimensional paintings and is a compelling exploration of transformation and identity through the lens of abstract painting. \nJoin artist Seth P. Benzel on Free First Saturday at 11 a.m. in the auditorium for a talk about his solo exhibition\, “Deconstructing Self.” Following the talk\, guests are invited to view the exhibition with the artist and participate in a Q&A. At 2 p.m.\, Benzel will return to the “Deconstructing Self” gallery for an informal meet-and-greet\, offering another opportunity to engage with the artist and ask questions about his work. DESCRIPTION:All CF faculty and staff are invited to the Kappa Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society’s Fall 2025 Induction Ceremony Thursday\, Oct. 30\, at 7 p.m. in the Klein Center. After the ceremony there will be food and socializing with the students\, their families and faculty. Help show your support for PTK by attending this event! \nThis is a bi-annual event to recognized the high achieving students at the College of Central Florida. Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society\, headquartered in Jackson\, Mississippi\, stands as one of the largest and most esteemed honor societies in higher education\, boasting 1\,285 chapters across the United States\, Canada\, Germany\, the Republic of Palau\, Peru\, the Republic of the Marshall Islands\, the Federated States of Micronesia\, the British Virgin Islands\, the United Arab Emirates\, and U.S. territorial possessions. Since its establishment in 1918\, Phi Theta Kappa has inducted over 3 million students\, with an annual induction of approximately 134\,000 students. To qualify for membership\, a student must have successfully completed a minimum of 12 hours of associate degree coursework and achieved a grade-point average of 3.5 or higher.
