We’re excited to share the next phase of Take the Reins through a new Title III proposal focused on strengthening student retention, communication, and career readiness.
Building on the momentum of our QEP, this project expands our efforts to support students from entry through completion, with a particular focus on early momentum and connection to resources.
This proposal reflects input from multiple campus groups and is currently in final development. It is designed to support students across all programs and disciplines.
What’s Included
The proposal is centered around three areas:
Student Communication and Navigation
Expanding a proactive case management approach and improving how students connect with support services early in their experience.
Workforce Readiness and Career Exploration
Developing a centralized resource to support student success in coursework, transfer pathways, and future careers through hands-on use of emerging technologies, including AI and simulation tools. This also includes expanded career exploration support that complements and connects to existing Career Center services.
Retention and Student Success
Strengthening early alert systems, academic support, and re-engagement strategies to help students stay on track and complete their goals.
We’d Love Your Input
As we move into final drafting, we’re inviting quick input to make sure we’re not missing anything important.
Take the 2-minute input survey here.
We’re especially interested in:
- Any gaps or overlaps related to your area
- Opportunities to better connect students to existing services
- Any potential conflicts with current initiatives
Please submit responses by Monday, May 4th as we are working on a tight timeline.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed so far. We’re excited about the potential impact of this work across the college.
