Save the Date 2021 Benefits Open Enrollment, Oct. 26-Nov. 6

Please save the date for the 2021 Open Enrollment for Florida Blue medical insurance and other health benefits. The 2021 open enrollment period begins Monday, Oct. 26, and will continue until midnight Friday, Nov. 6. A detailed message regarding Open Enrollment will be posted to the CF Insider at a future date.

Below are a few highlights. Full details about plans, rates, employee events and enrollment instructions will be provided at the commencement of open enrollment.

Things to know to prepare for Open Enrollment
Enrollment: Enrollment is not mandatory unless you are making plan changes or adding dependents. If you choose to take no action, you current benefits will roll over to the new plan year. This includes voluntary benefits (Short Term/Long Term Disability, Cancer Insurance, Medigap Plan) offered through Custom Benefits, with the exception of the Flexible Spending Account. FSA members must log into the FSA site to make new monetary elections for the 2021 plan year.

Recorded presentations available on the benefits website: Due to COVID-19, Florida Blue will not be on campus for an employee meeting. As an alternative, Human Resources has created a recorded presentation of 2021 insurance plan information, including plan design changes and rate changes.  Additional recorded presentations or online educational tools have been provided by Ameritas Dental, The Standard Life Insurance and Health Equity (health savings account). Employees can view these informative presentations on the Employee Benefits Web Page at their own convenience to assist with making informed benefits decisions. After the PowerPoint Presentations opens, click “Slide Show,” then “from beginning” to activate the audio presentation.

Open Enrollment Checklist: Human Resources has created a checklist that can be followed to assist employees in completing all required steps for open enrollment.

Plans: The two CF Health Plans offered have not changed, but there are some plan design changes within each plan. Premium rates have increased 5% for 2021.  Information on the plan design changes for health insurance can be found on the Employee Benefits Web Page, and are discussed in detail in the recorded presentation.  There were no 2021 premium increases for all other plans (dental, vision, life, voluntary benefits).

The Employee Benefits Web Page is currently being updated with 2021 information.  Please continue to check back periodically for new information.
