CF’s innovative new educational series, “Patriot Project: Bringing History to Life,” continues Wednesday, Sept. 7, 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Webber Center. Dr. Sarah Satterfield, senior professor of music and humanities, will present “Music in the Colonial Period.” She’ll discuss indigenous music, music of African slaves, religious music, folk music, concert music, and the musical scene in Florida.

The Patriot Project will take a deep dive into the history of the 17th and 18th centuries, expanding on the new state civics initiative to invite students, staff and the community to a monthly lecture series. Lectures are free and open to the public and light refreshments and event giveaways will be provided.

The Patriot Project was developed by Dr. Sarah Satterfield, CF professor of music, with funding provided through a CF Foundation New Initiative Grant.
