Webber Gallery to Present “Florida Artists Group Exhibition” Jan. 26-March 9

The Webber Gallery presents the “68th Annual Florida Artists Group Exhibition” in Ocala, Jan. 26-March 9. A reception will be held Friday, Jan. 26, from 7-9 p.m. at the Webber Center, 3001 S.W. College Road. The exhibition and reception are free to attend.

The Florida Artists Group is a not-for-profit organization of professional visual artists that contributes to the cultural atmosphere of Florida through lectures, discussions and demonstrations.

“Since 1949, the Florida Artists Group has held a symposium and member’s exhibition each year in a different Florida city,” said Jeffrey Smart Baisden, FLAG Area VIII chairperson. “Made up of artists whose work has attained national or state-wide recognition, the purpose of the group is to encourage, create, and exhibit artwork of the highest standards within the State of Florida. The Florida Artist Group is excited to bring our 2018 Symposium and Exhibition to the Webber Gallery and the City of Ocala.”

The 2018 exhibition features two and three-dimensional artwork created by 73 Florida artists. The exhibition is judged by Julie Heffernan, a Brooklyn-based painter who exhibits internationally and throughout the U.S. Heffernan received her Master of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking at the Yale School of Art and Architecture, and is Professor of Fine Art at Montclair State University.
