DEI Update: MLK Day

“If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.”   — Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Each January, we celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., whose words continue to inspire us decades after the turbulent times when they were first spoken. We must keep moving forward, as King encouraged, as real progress comes through greater self-awareness and meaningful change in culture.

We invite you to be in the community with us at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. March and Day in the Park on Monday, Jan. 16, in Ocala. CF is No. 28 in the march lineup, which begins at 8 a.m. at the Ocala Downtown Square. The march begins at 9 a.m.

Transportation will be provided from the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Complex parking lot to the Ocala Downtown Square beginning at 7 a.m. The complex is adjacent to the CF Hampton Center parking lot. Day in the Park activities start immediately following the march at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Complex and include music, dance performances, speakers and more.

If you can’t join the CF team at these events, please take some time to reflect on the meaning of the day. As King said: “Commit yourself to the noble struggle for equal rights. You will make a greater person of yourself, a greater nation of your country, and a finer world to live in.”
