Dear CF Family,
I’m pleased to announce that the College of Central Florida will participate in the 2018 Marion County Heart Walk — held at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Baseline Trailhead — to support the American Heart Association. Please get involved by signing up for the walk and generating enthusiasm for this important cause. I encourage you to consider becoming a coach to play an even bigger role in raising the necessary funds to save lives.
Last year, more than 100 CF employees, friends and family members participated in the walk and raised more than $8,000 for the American Heart Association. To reach that number again, we’ll need at least 10 teams to participate this year. I thank you for your commitment and dedication to our community’s fight against heart disease and stroke.
Are you up for the challenge?
To date, we have three teams registered. Dr. Charles McIntosh with the assistance of Susan Murphy will once again lead CF’s efforts this year. A special thanks to them for the work they are doing! We need your help to find additional team leaders.
Please participate with CF by leading a team or joining an existing team:
- Visit MarionHeartWalk.org.
- Click “Register and Join Heart Walk.”
- To sign up as a coach click “Start a Team” and select CF from the “New Team Under Group” drop-down menu. Enter your “Team Name” and “Team Fundraising Goal. Then click “Next” to finish your registration.
- To join an existing team, click “Join a Team” and select CF from the drop-down menu. Review the list of teams under CF and click “Join Team” next to the team you want. Finish your registration by completing the remaining steps.
Please renew your commitment this year or get involved for the first time. I hope to see you on Oct. 6.
