Better You Live Well with Diabetes Series

The Better You Team invites you to join us for an interactive webinar to learn more about steps to take to manage diabetes so you can feel well today and prevent complications in the future. This three-part series educates participants about diabetes and how it affects the body, the importance of monitoring your blood glucose and overall self-care behaviors for healthier living. This program is facilitated by a doctor, registered nurse educators and a pharmacist to help review your medications.

Session 1: Diabetes Overview

This presentation will help you understand what diabetes is, the different types of diabetes, how it affects the body and how it is diagnosed. You will be introduced to the benefits of self-management behaviors to help manage diabetes.

Session 2: Monitoring and Medications

Tuesday, June 22, 1 p.m.

Checking blood glucose is the cornerstone of diabetes self-management. However, since diabetes can affect many parts of the body, it’s important to monitor your overall health to decrease your risks for complications. This session will review the different types of diabetes medications used for effective management of diabetes, and when to see your doctor for periodic review.

Session 3: Lifestyle Choices and Self-Care

Tuesday, June 29, 1 p.m.

There are several lifestyle choices and self-care behaviors that can help you manage your diabetes: healthy eating, physical activity and coping skills. Practicing these behaviors can help reduce the risks of complications from diabetes.
